LinkedIn has more than 500 million users (and counting). Not all of the users use it to find or provide jobs, but they showcase their latest work as well.
LinkedIn has a large engagement rate when it comes to media. People love sharing photos, videos and also, Gifs. LinkedIn is aware of the importance of visuals, and this is why it is rolling out Stories, just like on Facebook and Instagram.
Here’s how you could take good care of your media:
- One Photo Posts
One-photo posts on LinkedIn will display the whole picture in a gray container that can go up to 690px.
- Normal Photo
- Very Tall Image
- Two Photo Posts
LinkedIn will display them in square, cut in half with images being displayed side by side.
- Three Photo Posts
LinkedIn will display them in a square container cut horizontally into two halves. The top half takes 60% of the height and the bottom half 40%. The first photo takes the spotlight in the bigger half.
- Four Photo Posts
Similarly, the square container will be cut into two halves, the first half taking 60% of the height. The first photo will be displayed in the top half and the remaining three photos will be listed equally in the bottom half side by side.
- Five (or more) photo posts
Similarly, the square container will be cut into two halves, the first half taking 60% of the height. This time the first two photos will be displayed on the top half and the remaining photos in the bottom half. If there are more than 5 photos, the last photo will show the + number of remaining photos.
- Link Thumbnails
If the thumbnail has a width greater than 400 pixels, LinkedIn will display a large thumbnail and crop it at within the aspect ratio of 1.91×1 (same as Twitter and Facebook)
- If the thumbnail has a width of 400 pixels or less, LinkedIn will display a small thumbnail 138×72 pixels.
